License Plate Camera

What is a license plate camera?

License Plate Cameras are special cameras that have a high capacity to recognize license plates in low light situations and also adapt to existing reflections on license plates.
These cameras also have high speed so that it can capture data even when vehicles are moving, thus allowing for information retrieval when the cameras are installed together with a Recording Equipment.

For whom is it recommended to use License Plate Cameras?

License Plate:

Are recommended for properties that have high traffic of foreign vehicles that can affect the security of the property. Places such as companies, shops, HOAs, Hotels, gas station, car wash are highly recommended to use these systems.

What are the benefits?

Combining the use of a special license plate reading camera and a digital image recorder, we can list these benefits:

  • Capture license plates in low light
  • Capture license plates at speed
  • Create a Vehicle White List
  • Create a Vehicle Black List

Professional Installation

When it comes to a license plate camera, it is essential that this installation is done by a professional and experienced company.
License plate capture cameras need to be installed at the correct height and angle, in addition to considering the flows and types of vehicles.
In the United States, for example, there are some states (e.g: Florida) where cars only have plates on the back of the vehicle, unlike other states that have both plates. We also need to consider the variation in vehicle types (variation between a small car and a large truck)
Another important point is related to the existing (or absent) lighting where the camera will be installed, our installation engineers will ensure that everything is within the standard and requirement according to the manufacturer’s documentation, thus ensuring the correct functioning of the equipment.

License Plate Camera Recording Options

lpr storage

License plate cameras have a few ways in which they can store recordings, which are:

  • Using an NVR (Network Video Recorder);
  • Using cloud storage (on some models, this option may be limited);
  • Using a memory card directly in the camera;

We always recommend installing these cameras together with a network video recorder (NVR), thus, we will be able to offer the best features of these equipments.

When we use this camera with IP technology (Internet Protocol) in conjunction with an NVR, it means that all recordings will be made digitally, allowing us to apply the system’s intelligence to analyze the captured data.

When using one of the other options such as a memory card for example, the recordings will be limited to the size of the card (which will normally be a maximum of 256GB) and will also be limited in relation to the resources available.

When using an NVR for example, the resources advanced will be enabled, allowing, in addition to recording the passage of vehicles, also storing photos of license plates and saving data in a database that can be consulted later.
